Point-of-Use Surge Protection Devices
Installing point-of-use surge protection devices is one of the best ways to prevent system damage and avoid expensive downtime. While installing surge supression products at the electrical service entrance is a smart place to start, it’s not enough. Browse our full line of point-of-use surge protection devices and keep your critical systems protected and online. Need help finding the best surge protection solutions? The Surge Protection Device Selection Tool helps you select SPDs for a broad range of applications from small data rooms to enterprise data centers.
The ASCO Model 233 Surge Protective Device is designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment such as traffic controllers, from high energy surges. The Model 233 incorporates MOV technology which clamps these surges before equipment damage occurs.
The ASCO Model 250 (Islatrol INXT) is a 120VAC, 60A, EMI/RFI filter. The Model 250 is a series-connected device, designed to filter electrical transients impinging on electrical distribution within a traffic control cabinet.
Utilizing bipolar Silicon Avalanche Diode (SAD) technology, the ASCO Model 238 features a two-stage design that provides superior protection for sensitive equipment and for ANSI/IEEE C62.41 Location Category A applications.
The ASCO MOdel 251 (Edco SHP) Surge Protective Device' s hybrid design exhibits performance levels unattainable with simple “shunt type” protectors. The two active clamp stages, large inductor and shunt capacitance effectively halt high rate-of-rise surge waveforms, thus preventing initial voltage overshoot.
The ASCO Model 258 Surge Protective Device is an upgraded version of the Edco SHA-1210IRS. The two models are equal in surge protection performance. Model 258 also incorporates two LEDs for failure indicator in a modular package (utilizes 12-pin Beau connector). The hardwire terminal base (SHABA accessory) accommodates all wiring and the protection module is designed for easy replacement.
The ASCO Model 234 (Edco SHA-1201) Surge Protective Device is specifically designed for type 170 traffic controller cabinets that require power neutral to remain isolated from cabinet earth ground. Protection is provided both between phase-to-neutral and neutral-to-ground. If neutral is bonded to earth ground in the cabinet, the ASCO Model 233 (Edco SPA-100T) should be considered as a cost-effective alternate to the Model 234 (Edco SHA-1201).
The ASCO Model 254 (Edco ACP-340) filtering surge protector absorbs power line noise and switching transients that other suppressors and RFI filters pass through. In addition, this unit offers better lightning protection than the standard SHP300-10. The ACP-340 can replace the RFI filter when high attenuation of noise above 25MHz is not required.
The ASCO Model 235 (Edco SHA) Surge Protective Device provides surge protection for highway lighting/street pole applications. The suppressor is encapsulated in a compact watertight enclosure that can be installed inside the pole.
The ASCO Model 254 (Edco SHA-1210) Surge Protective Device and Filter absorbs power line noise and switching transients that other suppressors and RFI filters pass through. The Model 254 can replace the RFI filter when high attenuation of noise above 25 MHz is not required.
The ASCO Model 237 (Edco FAS-120AC) Surge Protective Device is designed to protect AC distribution panel circuits or 120V power supplies feeding sensitive electronic equipment.
ASCO Model 270 (Islatrol E) Surge Protective Device provides continuous sine wave Active Tracking Filtering, normal mode (L-L or L-N), for protection from spikes, transients and noise. Available in either hardwired, printed circuit board mount, wire lead mount or single receptacle/line cord configurations, single phase or three phase, 50/60 Hz.
The ASCO Model 275 (Islatrol IC+ Series) AC Power Filter is a series connected high-frequency noise filter with transient protection. It offers the flexibility of either receptacle/line cord connection or hard-wired connection to critical loads (up to 30 Amperes). Applications include industrial or office equipment, computers placed in harsh environments.
The ASCO Model 277 (Islatrol™ IE) is a series-connected DIN or flange mounted high frequency noise filter and surge suppressor. Its ideal applications include critical industrial loads drawing up to 20 Amps of continuous current, while typical applications include any microprocessor-based products, including industrial PLCs, OEM applications, and motion control systems.
